This Siberian tiger cub is one of the few that will
hopefully continue the species into the future, if left
alone in the Siberian forests he has the potential to
father up to thirty more Siberian Tigers during his
lifetime of about twenty years.
The latest estimates are that there only 500 - 750 left
in the wild, so his contribution will be vital to secure
their future.
What a sad place this world would be, if a magnificent
animal such as this only survived in the world’s zoos.
When young, play helps these kittens to refine their
hunting skills that will help them to survive in the wild
environment. They will stalk each other, play rough and
tumble and ambush their sibling, just as a pet kitten
will attack a toy or ambush you from behind a chair. All
of this is essential for this largest member of the cat
family to perfect the swift and slinky style that helps it
survive.
