Made with Xara Web Designer Superiority One of the most powerful land carnivores, the Siberian Tiger is a massively built cat of awesome size and power and is the largest cat in the world. The biggest one ever recorded was 1,025 pounds, while the average weight for male Siberian Tigers is 500-900 pounds. Male Siberian Tigers are usually about 3.5 feet tall at the shoulder and about 13 feet long from nose to tail. Despite its size, the Siberian Tiger can run up to 50 miles per hour over the snow if it wants to. That's only 10 miles per hours slower than the cheetah (the fastest cat in the world)! Its distinctive coat is a pale orange-brown with dark brown stripes. Its small round ears have black backs with a central white spot.  The Tiger is very territorial and it must have a huge area to hunt.  Being solitary, Tigers avoid their own kind, except at mating season. Territory sizes vary much in size. A male's can go from 60 to 500 square miles, and a female's can be from 20 to 200 square miles. Tigers will usually keep the same territory their whole lives. They will only move if food is scarce or another Tiger beats them in a fight.  If you are interested in acquiring this painting or would like further information please contact me Link to Us Privacy Photo Gallery Guestbook 12"x9” -  30x23cm Acrylic on Canvas All content and artwork copyright to Stephen Gayford and may not be reproduced without permission © 2007 - 2011
